This project was born of a desire to connect people with animals, nature and the environment regardless of the person’s “special needs” or “problems”. By offering farm based holidays and respite breaks, individually tailored to the needs and wishes of each client, who hope to provide them with their own unique, fun and informative experience. We believe the therapeutic benefits of sharing our lives with animals has been well documented, as have the benefits of outdoor activities and we hope to offer both these experiences to people who may find it hard to be accommodated within mainstream holiday centres.

Joined-Up Holidays are ideal for adults and children with a wide range of needs including physical, emotional, behavioural and learning difficulties. The centre is located in an area of outstanding natural beauty on the edge of Hamsterley forest and will be fully equipped and wheelchair friendly.

Experienced and qualified staff will provide a comprehensive 24 hour care programme specific to each individual guest. There is a wide range of activities for guests including horse care and equestrian skills, carriage driving, dog agility and training, a petting farm, nature trails, conservation projects, a rare breeds centre, sensory room, play area and organic gardens. While guests enjoy a fun packed holiday, their family and carers will have an opportunity for a well earned rest.
