Coming from the Town Centre High Street the road bends right then goes up a slight incline. A66. The turn off for Barnard Castle is in the right lane of a section of dual carriageway. Once off the A66 you will follow a 'B' road to a set of traffic lights before a bridge. Turn right over the bridge and follow the road to the 'T' junction. Turn left a follow the road into town; at the end you will come to a roundabout that has an old butter market on it. Turn right and go through the market town of Barnard Castle, the road bend go left and up a steep hill, at the top you will come to a roundabout that has an old butter market on it. Go straight and go through the market town of Barnard Castle, the road bends right then goes up a slight incline. From the North West: Follow the M6 south until junction 40, take the A66 east to Penrith, continue on the A66 to Bowes, then follow the road to Barnard Castle. You will enter Barnard Castle on a long straight road with a 'T' junction at the end. Turn right and left at the next lights and go over the county bridge. As you cross over the bridge the road is straight for 2-300 yards then it bends to the left, go left and up a steep hill, at the top you will come to a roundabout that has an old stone butter market on it. Go straight and go through the market town of Barnard Castle, the road bends right then goes up a slight incline.
