A Retreat here in the winter is spectacular. The weather highlights the power of the sea, sharing with us its majesty, amazing strength and beauty. This weekend is one where most practical classes are held indoors because of the weather, you will however be encouraged to go out and walk on the coastal path watch the sea and breathe the wonderful sea air; this place is breathtaking. The atmosphere indoors is calm and tranquil, built up over years of loving practice in this special place. The kindness and happiness of the nuns helps everyone towards a calm mind.

We will begin the day with meditation, and early morning Yoga. After breakfast we will rest until 10.15 a.m. when we have the main Yoga Session. At 1.00 p.m. we have lunch and a rest till 3.30 p.m. when we have a session that includes breathing techniques and meditation. The evening meal is at 7.00 p.m. followed at 8.15 p.m. with the evening session where there will be discussion, story telling and meditation. The Dynamic revitalising approach of Yoga will challenge you on every level. This Retreat invites you to lift your spirits in the winter darkness, encourage a calmer and happier frame of mind and develop a sense of stillness and inner space.

Friday
Arrive after 4.30 time is given to find your surroundings and settle in.
7.30 p.m. Dinner
8.15 p.m Introductions and meditation

Saturday
7.00 a.m. Asana and Meditation. This is a physical stretch followed by walking meditation.
8.00 a.m. Breakfast
9.00 a.m. Karma Yoga (working contemplation). This is working silently on the land or in the house or kitchen; working towards being in the present moment.
10.15 a.m. Yoga session; Asana, meditation, pranayama (breathing exercises).
1.00 p.m. Lunch then Rest time
3.30 p.m. Pranayama – walking – meditation
5.00 p.m. Tea time
7.00 p.m. Evening Meal
8.15 p.m. Evening session.

Sunday
Sunday as Saturday till lunch. Leaving session at 2.00 p.m. taking a leisurely journey home at 3.00 p.m.
